MASAR®
is an innovative and reliable software application system that detectsand monitors the performance and fouling development of all Reverse Osmosis
(RO) and Nanofiltration(NF) as well as Ultrafiltration (UF) and Microfiltration (MF) membrane systems of brackish and seawater water purification plants.
MASAR®
minimizes your total cost of water like no other system in the world.
It is NOT another normalization program!
This is why:
MASAR®
calculates and displays a unique membrane system fouling indicator, developed by MASAR Technologies, Inc., called the
Fouling Monitor(FM), which is the difference in normalized product
flows calculated using the standard ASTM D 4516-00 method as well as the MASAR®
modified method.
Monitoring the FM allows users to continuously check the operational and performance status of the membrane system
and detect the development of any membrane fouling, scaling or deterioration trends long before adverse symptoms become significant and visible at the plant,
resulting in irreversible loss in performance characteristics.
This translates into significant reduction in energy and chemicals consumption rates, plant downtime, maintenance and operating costs
while assuring that plant produces the design quantity and quality of water with maximum plant operational efficiency and availability.
Main System Functionality:
MASAR®
system works for all:
a. Membrane-based desalination and filtration processes (RO/NF/UF/MF)
b. Feed water sources (brackish, high brackish, wastewater and seawater)
c. Brine-staging (1-3 stages)
d. Membrane types (spiral, hollow-fine-fiber, flat)
e. Membrane materials (polyamide, CA, PA)
f. Membrane manufactures (Hydranautics, Dow Filmtec, Toray, Toyobo, etc.)
g. Membrane configurations (1-8 membrane cartridges per pressure vessel)
MASAR®Plus,
a specially-designed version of the software system, handles double-pass product-staging applications especially for dirty source waters or ultra-pure
applications.
MASAR®
does not require the collection of any additional operating data other than is normally collected in the plant. The system operates on-line; it does not
require any system shutdown or maintenance.
